LOOKING GLASS CATERING
 Looking Glass is a small catering company based in New York City specializing in intimate gatherings and events. Our menus are often inspired by Moroccan, Mediterranean and Thai cuisine, but we love designing dishes to suit the client and the occasion. We aim to evoke a casual splendor with our decorations from simple flower arrangements to elaborate themed environments. OUR HISTORY
We met in 2001 as students at Harvard College when we were both working as costume designers in the theater department. We quickly became friends after realizing that we shared a taste for the faded glamour of vintage clothing. The following year we moved into an off-campus apartment with four other girls. Suddenly, we had to cook all of our own meals, but instead of subsisting on ramen noodles and peanut butter we found ourselves spending hours experimenting in the kitchen, making multi-course dinners for whoever was passing through. These dinners evolved into elaborate theme parties where the food played a central role in defining the atmosphere of the occasion. After graduating, we moved back to our hometown of New York City, where we continued to look for any excuse to throw a party. We found that we could make even our smallest post-collegiate apartments feel luxurious with heaping platters of food, warm candlelight, and eclectic decorations. In 2005 we decided to bring our love of entertaining to a larger audience and created Looking Glass Catering. |
